The sequencer, the song timeline, all 25 effects and every export format, in detail.
Every step has its own pitch, velocity, filter, resonance, pan and envelope settings. Open a track in the Piano Roll to draw those values across the bar.
One finger paints notes: drag across the grid and every step your finger passes gets a note, so you can draw a pitched fill in one motion. Two fingers scroll the keyboard. ALL NOTES or IN KEY sets which pitches you can land on.
Tap CUT and every step turns into a see-through slider over the notes. Drag across them to draw the sweep in one stroke. The notes you drew stay where they are, and tapping CUT again takes you back to them.
VEL works the same way, so you draw the accents instead of typing a number for each step. RES and PAN work the same way.
These are in the PATTERNS panel. You hear a preview first, and nothing changes until you keep it.
Writes a new groove into the current pattern, including accents and step values. It doesn't change your sounds, tempo or song.
Makes a new pattern based on the current one. Tap TRY AGAIN to hear a different one, or KEEP to save it as a new pattern.
Adds an ending to the current pattern. You can try other fills, keep one, or cancel to get the pattern back the way it was.
SWING is in the TEMPO panel. CHOKE and EDIT SAMPLE are in each track's menu.
Pushes every second 16th note late. 50% is straight, 67% is a triplet shuffle and 75% is the most. It applies to every pattern, the song and your exports.
Put tracks in the same group, 1 to 4, and a hit on one stops the others. Put the closed and open hats together so the closed hat cuts the open one off.
Drag the start and end of an imported or sliced sample to trim it, or play it backwards. The original audio is kept, so RESET brings it back.
Set the song's key under the tempo, then choose SYNTH in a track's menu. Tap a step, pick a chord, and you hear it right away. The synth plays the bass line over it.
Any of the 12 notes, major or minor. Change it later and every chord track moves with it.
You only see the seven chords in the key, plus the one songs in that key borrow most. A chord plays until the next one.
Eight bass sounds, each with a clean sub under it, and knobs for tone, drive, sub and note length.
Eight patterns, from one held note per chord to octaves, arpeggios and a syncopated line. Any sound plays any pattern, and your chords stay when you change either.
Each step can be pitched up to 24 semitones up or down. Patterns can be 1 to 64 steps long in 4/4, 3/4 or 6/8, with up to 16 tracks. Hold a step that's on to turn it into a flam. Drag a track name up or down to change its level, or sideways to pan it. Work saves automatically, and you can undo and redo.
Switch from PATTERN to SONG and the grid becomes a timeline. Pick a pattern under PAINT and drag across a lane to place it. A song starts with six lanes and + ADD LANE takes it to 32, so you can put a fill on top of a groove without deleting the groove. Above them, two FX rows hold filter sweeps and glitches. Pinch to zoom, and scroll with two fingers.
Pick a pattern under PAINT, then drag across a lane. Tap a block of the same pattern to clear it. The song has its own undo history, separate from your patterns, and LENGTH always shows how long it runs.
Paint a different pattern over one that's already there and it goes into the next empty lane. A pattern can only be in one place at a time, so painting it where it's already playing does nothing, and the block it would clash with flashes. MOVE drags blocks to another bar or lane, SELECT resizes them, and SNAP lines edits up to the step, beat or bar.
Arm ERASE and tap a block to delete it, or drag across a run of blocks to delete all of them, on any lane. The whole drag counts as one undo.
Drag across the ruler to loop the section you're working on, and double-tap it to clear the loop. If a loop is set when you export, only those bars are exported, and the export panel shows the range before you start. Clear the loop to export the whole song.
Pick a move under FX and paint it on the two FX rows. OPEN, CLOSE, DIP, THIN and FILL sweep a filter. STUTTER, ROLL, TAPE STOP, REVERSE, CRUSH, GATE and DROP break the sound up. A move can hit MAIN or one track, and with SELECT you drag its ends to set where the sweep starts and lands. They play and export exactly where you put them.
ADD / REMOVE opens the list below, grouped the same way as in the app. Every effect opens in its own window with its own display, and playback keeps going while you work. Hold an insert in the signal strip and drag it to reorder. Settings, order and bypass save with the project. UNDERTOW is made from a track's own sample, so it's on tracks only.
Inside Sonic Decimator, in order: a 200 Hz crossover that keeps the low end out of the effect, up to +30 dB of input drive, asymmetric clipping, wavefolding, bit reduction, sample-and-hold, a DC blocker and the gate. After that the low end is mixed back in, and a hard ceiling keeps the output from clipping.
Export the master, separate tracks, MIDI, a sample pack or the whole project. Sounds are rendered again at export, and your original imported files aren't changed.
.fkit file holds the whole project, including patterns, arrangement, kit, mix and effects, so you can open it on another device.
